Spoken Word

Spoken word is the rendering of previously penned pieces and extracts for an audience. Or "just reading shit" as it has been called.

Peter first spoken word performance was at the Open Mike at ABC Treehouse in Amsterdam in 2004. This was as his alter-ego, Pete The Poet, developed for a film in production, directed by Rick Phelps. Pete the Poet is the worst of the self-deluded poets and went down very well.

His first true spoken word performance was at the fantastic Open Stanza at Amsterdam's Sugar Factory on 17 July 2005. He has since performed there several times as well as a couple of times during easylaughs shows and again at the ABC Treehouse, Amsterdam.

Actual live shots from the Open Stanza 17 July 2005

This one shows Peter part way through his high-concept piece - "I'm a little teapot."
18/12/05. Live action shot as Peter points to a poem perpetrated by another poet hoping to pretend it is his own.
